With Fanzing #50 coming up in November, we're having a special art challenge honoring Fanzing's big five-o! The 50th issue commemorative pieces can be as fun and original as you can make them while communicating the idea that it's a celebration of Fanzing's 50th issue! The challenge entries have to include the word "Fanzing" and the number 50 (or spelled out as fifty) in the artwork, but asides from those two limitations, the possibilities are endless! For example:
The winner will receive the cover slot for issue #50, and all the other entries will be placed in a special art gallery in the same issue! So here's the challenge:
Entries must be in a digital format such as GIF, JPG or BMP (scan in your drawings if necessary). Photomanipulations are allowed for backgrounds, although doing a background by hand can help your score. All acceptable entries will be shown in the issue. Have fun! Writing Challenge
Here's the challenge:What if Fanzing created the DC Universe? What if you had the opportunity to retell the origin of your favorite character? How would you create Batman, Superman, or any of DC's other characters? Now's your chance! To enter the challenge, simply retell the origin of a character (or group of characters) from a new, different, and/or creative perspective! Specifics:
