The results are in! This year's Swimsuit Art Challenge had seven excellent entries, running the gamut from humor to fashion, from cartoony to realistic, and from black-and-white to full-color. Just click on the small images to examine the full-sized entries. The real beauty's in the details. People with current standard browsers will actually see the images floating in front of them, where you can move them around to your pleasure. Those with older browsers will see them in a separate window and will have to hit their "Back" buttons to return here. Our first entry is by the Brothers Grinn. This pic of the Power Company had one of our judges rolling in laughter! The Brothers always bring the big guns to the swimsuit challenge, don't they? Second is "DC Swimwear", by Dan Forsyth. As one of the judges quipped, "The tan lines are a very simple but effective way to state that YES, it IS possible for Wonder Woman to be wearing even less clothing.
Titan Guys", by Rosaline Terrill, is our third pic, depicting what happens
when Law-and-Order Dick is too rigid in scheduling the group's free time. Another entry from Rosaline is this wonderfully rendered image of Donna Troy. One judge commented that perhaps, since she's not actually wearing a swimsuit, that she should be disqualified. Naturally, the other judges overruled him and beat him with a sock full of oranges.
Fifth on our list is Fred Sadek's renditon of Wonder Woman, Troia and Zatanna. A couple of the judges weren't quite sure what was happening with the glowing ball, but all agreed it was a good pic nonetheless. Next, we have an entry from Nikoru Chan, showing us a very lovely Knockout (from the Vertigo Comic). There's not a lot to say here, except for "WOW". He can sure draw a nice lookin' female, can't he? And our seventh and final entry is from Larry O'Keefe, with a whimsical image entitled "Joker and Harley's Day (?) at the Beach". Our judges' comments: "What is really impressive is the linework. (Look at Harley's shoes!) It's clean and detailed; reminiscent of great French and Italian comic art. And Funny, too!"
Also, Yusuf's art piece of Looker from The Outsiders (right) arrived
after the deadline, so it could not qualify for the judging. So there you have it! What are your favorites? Well, it doesn't matter, because the judges have spoken! And the Winner is.... "Donna Troy" by Rosaline Terrill! Rosaline will be recieving a copy of "Superman/Doomsday", signed by Dan Jurgens, and donated by John Torrisi. Thanks to all who participated in the Fifth Annual Swimsuit Art Challenge!
