This month the winner is: Dave Gallagher's site is part fanzine, part current (comics) events, and entirely cool! The site's contents include profiles of DC characters, top ten lists, e-cards featuring professional artwork, action figures, and loads of visuals. (The site is very graphic intensive, but surprisingly, doesn't take all that long to load). The "Fun & Games" page contains three original comic strips featuring DCU characters, much like "Zingers" by Erik Burnham. Design wise, this is one of the nicest sites I've seen. Graphics and HTML design combine to create an impressive result. For example, the Slab page, which profiles a handful of the DCU's villains, effectively creates a prison atmosphere by showing the villains behind "bars" and including a warning letter from the warden! David R. Black is Fanzing.com's magazine editor and chief archivist. A big fan of "The Warlord," he has a cat named Shakira and is looking for a girlfriend named Tara.... |
