Fanzing Presents:

Job Wanted #1

Covers and interior pin-ups

by Rosalyn Terrill
with Scott McCullar, Chris Franklin and the Brothers Grinn

The cover, by Rosalyn Terrill of the fantasy art site Orelinde's Realm, features the main characters from the story looking over the job postings. The postings on the board describe all 8 of the jobs featured inside the book. As for the stunningly attractive woman examining a card up close, you can find out what it reads by looking at the back cover. (Want to see the back cover? You'll have to buy the book in December. Be sure to ask your comics retailer to carry it or you'll never learn the answer! Yes, we're sneaky.)

In addition to the covers, there are title cards in front of the stories (not counting the four-page Behind the Fuzz). These title cards act as miniature covers, setting the mood for each story. Rosalyn provided the artwork for four of the seven covers, while the art teams for "The Slime", "Beekeeper" and "Evil Inc." did the art for the title cards of their respective stories.

Cover and Title Card Art

Scott McCullar is the painter who rocked Fanzing's final year, doing many of the magazine's covers and pinups (a tradition which she continues here). Roz received a B.A. in Fine Arts from Northwest College of Art and her preferred medium is digital painting. Her main interest in comics is doing covers, pinups, trading card and poster art. Aside from comics, Roz creates digital paintings which she sells online from her web site, Orelinde's Realm, and spends the rest of her dwindling free time being a mom. She lives with her her husband and two kids in the country outside Seattle.
